Wildfires in British Columbia's Northeast have sparked evacuation in a few neighborhoods in Fort St. John. RCMP have been going to houses and getting citizens to safety as the fires start to get closer. Some residents in the Fish Creek area had to evacuate to safety while the flames were approaching. In the meantime, more fires started blazing across the town, which "disrupted transport, phone and internet service in the community of Tumbler Ridge." This natural disaster forced Highway 52 North to close momentarily until things settled. With the summer rolling around the corner, it also brings dry weather making human-caused fires skyrocket. Do your part and keep your community safe.

This article is very important to me, since I live in a province that experiences crazy wildfires every year. I find it problematic that these fires are a lot of the times suspected to be human caused. Our communities issue fire warnings and share the dangers and ways that we can stay safe, yet many people don't abide to them. Specifically, in Tumbler Ridge, having all communications down because of a suspected human caused fire is scary and leaves its residents stranded. I hope that people can see the dangers of their actions and rethink their campfires and dispose other flammable items appropriately.
